Why drink beer?

Why not!

No other drink is quite like beer. It's our favourite alcoholic drink, the one we choose for nights out with friends, nights in with a film or the football. It's for when we need refreshment, when we need to relax, as a drink on its own, or, increasingly, to enjoy with food. You need no specialist knowledge to enjoy beer (though see our guide to matching beer and food), and it is always available in the pub or supermarket.
More than bitter or lager
More than bitter or lager
For many people 'beer' means lager or bitter, but there are many more styles: stouts, porters, wheat beers to name a few. Find out more about the many different styles of beer.
Made from good stuff
Great with food
Diners across the UK are discovering the delights of beer with food.
The range of flavours available from beer makes it a versatile partner to many foods: try a glass of porter with mussels, or a British ale with cheese.
