Frequently asked questions
The Beer Academy is a highly versatile not-for-profit educational organisation, offering a variety of courses and events on beer.
Some formats, such as their one day Foundation Course, were originally developed for those who work with breweries, beer retailers and pubs - but it is also perfect for other beer enthusiasts. A new 'Making Beer and Food Dance' course is designed for foodies, or those creating food in pubs or restaurants. Bespoke events can also created for corporate or social functions. Sessions can be run in pubs, homes, restaurants or public buildings - anywhere within reach of one of the Beer Academy's team.

Full details and bookings can be made via Dan Cannas at the Beer Academy.

The Cask Marque Trust was formed in 1997 to improve the quality of cask ale by the award of a nationally recognised accreditation. To date over 4,000 licensees hold the award. To gain the award the pub has to pass two unannounced visits by a qualified assessor who looks at temperature, appearance, aroma and taste of the cask ales on sale. Research by NOP shows that 32% of Cask Ale drinkers recognise the plaque.
