We are currently trialling a new award scheme with a planned re-launched of the Beautiful Beer Awards in June 2011. This new award scheme will identify pubs around the country who 'create theatre around beer' and to use these pubs as shining examples both in the industry and to the consumer.

The process of accreditation will cover:

• Presentation (across the product range)
• Use of appropriate glassware
• Correct branded glass
• Clean glassware
• Perfect pour

• Staff knowledge (across the product range)
• ABV (social responsibility)
• Product knowledge – colour, origin, taste

• Equipment / Beer Quality
• Covers ice machines, glass washers, bottle fridges, coolers, cellar equipment and dispense
• Great quality beer via good cellar management

• Communication
• Beer must play an important role in the retail offering
• Menus, tasting notes, marketing

• Good all round pub standards
